Oily skin is considered a very good skin type if it is taken care of properly. Oily skin type is also called as anti-aging skin. SHOCKED??? You know, oils are great for keeping wrinkles at bay. Definitely , taking care of oily skin is a difficult task because you have to deal with a lot of issues such as excess sebum, open pores, greasiness, and acne. Sometimes all these issues come all at once.
You cannot get rid of all these issues simultaneously but with the help of what I am sharing with you today, you can control them. I will tell you in my post today how to make a good face pack by using the stuff kept in the kitchen.
DIY Face-pack for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin
Banana Face-pack for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin
Banana: Banana is a great exfoliator that helps slough off excess sebum on the skin’s surface. It also contains moisture, potassium, and vitamins E and C, which all promote clear glowing skin.
Lemons: Lemons have antibacterial properties, so it’s the best choice to treat oily skin.
Honey : Honey is antibacterial and antiseptic abilities] it may benefit oily and acne prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectants, so it helps keep the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants draw moisture from the skin without replacing it.
Steps to follow
- Swirl 1 banana, 1 teaspoon turmeric and 1/3 cup of yogurt in a bowl
- Apply and keep on face for 15 minutes for a pimple free skin.
This face mask helps fighting pimples and reducing acne scars and blemishes.
Yogurt And Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) Face-pack for Oily & Acne-Prone Skin
Yogurt: Yogurt destroys the bacteria that cause acne and pimples. The zinc present in yogurt reduces skin inflammation and also aids in reducing the amount of oil produced by the sebaceous glands.
Multani Mitti : Multani mitti is natural clay and a rich source of natural minerals like zinc, silica, oxides, iron, and magnesium. It does not have any bad effects on the skin- It is a good absorbent that removes excess oil, dirt, sweat, and impurities from the skin pores.
Steps to Follow
- 2 tablespoons of multani mitti, 1 tablespoon of yogurt mix it well .
- Wash your face with a cleanser and pat it dry.
- Apply the mixture onto your face as you would a face pack.
- Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes
- Rinse it off with cool/lukewarm water.
Baking Soda, Honey and Lemon
Baking soda: Baking soda has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Also, its gritty texture helps remove the dead skin cells that trap excess oil and dust that cause breakouts.

- Let the mask sit on your face for about 15 to 20 minutes
- Rinse it off with cool/lukewarm water.
Oatmeal Facial Mask
Oatmeal : One of the best ways to soak up oil from the skin is to use oatmeal as a mask. Its absorbent qualities quickly reduce excess sebum production, leaving your complexion smooth, bright, and matte looking. Oatmeal is also very moisturizing , so it tricks oily skin into producing less oil.

- Cook the oatmeal in water. Make sure its not dry
- Mix cooked oatmealto with 2 tablespoons plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey.
- Apply this mixture to face.
- Let the mask on your face for 15-20 minutes
- Rinse it off with cool/lukewarm water.
Tea Tree Oil And Clay Face mask
Tea Tree Oil : The antiseptic properties of tea tree oil may contribute to its ability to fight oily skin.
Clay :clay masks can help clear your skin’s surface of excess oil and dirt, there will most likely be less surface buildup in your pores. When pores are clear of dirt they don’t have to stretch to accommodate excess oil, sweat, or makeup, so they can appear visibly smaller.
Steps to Follow
- Mix together 1 tablespoon of clay and 1-2 tablespoons of water to form a paste.
- Use a wooden spoon and a wooden bowl to mix the ingredients together. Pour in few drops of tea tree oil.
- Wash your face.
- Apply the mask for 15 to 20 min.
- Rinse off the mask with warm water.
Honey and Brown Sugar
Brown Sugar : Brown sugar’s grainy particles exfoliate your skin, clearing away dry and dead skin cells. This helps create a smoother skin and lends a youthful glow. Brown sugar also has antibacterial properties and glycolic acid that keeps your skin radiant and healthy.

Steps to Follow
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 1 teaspoon honey, Brown sugar, and honey mix together well in a small bowl.
- Wash face well. Apply a small amount of mixture to wet skin.
- Leave this mixture on your skin for 5 to 8 min
- Massage gently in a circular motion. Avoid the eye area.
- Rinse off the mask with warm water.

Note: Face mask should only be used once or twice a week.
